Welcome to the Westway Daytime Tennis League!
Tennis players
of all standards are warmly invited to join the new mixed (men and women) singles day time tennis league. The perfect
way to improve your tennis, this is league for adults, based at the Westway Sports Centre, London
W10. A premier sports facility, the Westway has eight top-quality acrylic indoor courts and four clay courts - the
only clay courts open to the general public in London.
The first round will run from:
MONDAY
18 MAY TO SUNDAY 12 JULY, 2009
The deadline for joining is MONDAY
11 MAY
The league is open to everyone, from beginners to advanced players, though everyone will only play other people
of a roughly similar standard. You get about five or six matches (to be played over an eight week period at a time
that suits you), the chance to win £20 (if you win your group) and everyone who completes three matches by the mid way point
of each round receives a free can of balls.
Can't play in the day? No problem. This is a sister site to our Westway Clay Court Tennis League which you can
find at http://westwayclaycourttennisleague.tripod.com/. It works exactly like this one, but matches can be played at any time on the Westway's high quality green clay
courts.

How it works
- It is a DAYTIME league for people who can play on WEEKDAYS between 10am and 3pm
- It's a mixed (men and women) singles league
- It’s divided into groups of about 6 players of a similar standard
- Everyone in their group plays everyone else on the courts at the Westway unless another venue suits both parties
Matches are the best of three tie break sets (allow 2 hours per match)
- It’s up to everyone to arrange their own matches
- You get one point for every set you win
- If you complete three matches by the mid way point you get a FREE can of tennis balls
- WINNERS of each group WIN £20, and receive a winner's certiticate
- At the end of the round, where possible, the top two players in each group go up, two go down and two stay put. For
those who want to, it then starts again with a new round.
- It costs £10 to join each round (this does not include the cost of the courts)
